the idea was to have consistent titles for all pages/articles/index/... you just complain about article.html or all other templates too? personally i prefer to make websites for humans, if a crawler knows something already then let him. where's the harm in having your site name in every title?
Well articles are in some sense "most important" since that is where we want people to go / read / share, so that's why I commented there.
I think it's a fine thing to want websites for humans, but it doesn't need to be required for all users of pelican-octopress-theme
to be available for all users.
you're right. the article's title is most important. that's why it comes first, only followed by the site name. most people use tabs anyway which means they won't even see more than the first few words of your article title.
I think it won't bother anyone if the site name is appended at the end of page titles: it is SEO friendly and as Manuel says it is not highlighted in the browser tabs as it is put at the end.
