I am choosing this as my second choice. I am interested in learning more about COVID-19 since it is a global pandemic
This is my second choice project. Currently, COVID-19 is a public health concern globally, and i am interested on how we can use the COVID-19 available data and Bioinformatics skills in understanding its transmission, pathogenesis, evolution and treatment.
Am choosing this as my second option because I have passion in data analysis and would like to know more about COVID19
Am interested in this mini project because it's a current global problem with a lot of an answered questions, and therefore analysing this data may contribute to availing solutions surrounding the covid-19 transmission control, treatment and understanding its effects.
I am personally interested in Molecular Epidemiology of Infectious Diseases. My current work scope with the Zoonotic division here in Uganda involves emergence response to epidemics/pandemics of R(e)merging viral infections in Uganda. This mini project sounds a perfect fit. I would love to learn/expand my knowledge in phylogenetics and diversity analysis. In addition, part of my MSc project involves retrieving data from public databases and phylogenetics of viral evolution. Surely, this group work will acquaint me with better skills and knowledge to contribute to the on-going work back here in Uganda as well as prepare me to undertake my Msc analysis. I can consider this choice one.
I am choosing this project as my first choice because I am interested in drug and vaccine development. And to make drugs that control the infectious disease you have to understand its diversity and I also have keen interest in emerging and re-emerging infections and hence if accorded this opportunity I will expand my skill set. My Msc research will include retrieving genomes from data bases to use in reverse vaccinology for vaccine development so this project will be of outmost importance. And lastly Covid -19 has become a global pandemic and during this mini project we to make contributions then ourimpact will be great
I'd love to participate in the analysis of SARS-CoV2 sequences to contribute to the growing knowledge about the virus that I believe is central to managing its spread and morbidity The questions I propose relate to the phylogeography and evolution of the virus, signatures within the viral genome that could predict its ability to infect hosts and the degree of morbidity after infection, presence of different circulating viral strains
I am interested in understanding viral epidemiology, specifically viral spread, transmissions and evolution, and being at the forefront of formulating intervention measures. In light of SARS-CoV2, I intend to use the available data to understand genetic diversity within and between the strains and phylogenetic relationships.
I choose this as my second project. Convos-19 has a very big impact to our day to day lives . The status quo changed. This project gives me the chance to not only implement my data analytical skills but also look for patterns and give meaning to the available data .
Leveraging publicly available datasets for research seems a proper way to build skills in data collection/mining, usage of existing data for master's and doctoral theses, and use of existing data to answer interesting new questions or explore questions at the population level. I choose this as my second option
This project is fully assigned.
Am choosing this as my first choice. I would like to find out what makes COVID19 so special from other infectious diseases. Its global impact is undoubtedly the most shocking in the history of my existing, had never see such a pandemic!!!
I chose this as my first choice, because I am interested in learning more knowledge and skills on how to use online data for a research project. My msv research project will need me to obtain data from online databases
This is my first choice project
Briefly comment on this issue why you are interested in this mini-project.
