@Emily-Jiang , I couldn't find gitter for https://github.com/eclipse/microprofile-conference . The more similar I found was the gitter channel for microprofile-samples. At this point, I don't know if microprofile-conference will be deprecated because of microprofile-samples.

Anyway, I created this PR to bring back the project build without errors. Can you please review it?
