When I log in with awesome i just see a black screen and a pink bar on top left of the screen.

I have the same problem here.

copy the .xfiles directory and .xresources from dotfiles and paste them in your home dir . The default colorscheme is defined in .xresources . But you can override it with xrdb -merge ~/.xfiles/{{colorscheme}}

Also if you see black screen try to set a wallpaper with feh maybe

forgot i commented about this before, it works perfectly fine now after switching to arch from pop os.

I'm having this same issue here. On manjaro in a vm. Anybody figured out a fix yet. I tried ashish's fix but it returned with no file or directory found.
