Higher res replacements for title screen and attract mode videos? #34

Are there any assets available to replace the title screen and attract mode videos? The original ones look really bad surrounded by all the new textures.

It would be great to be able to use higher quality intro videos such as .mp4, including at 16:9 aspect ratio, despite menus looking better in 4:3

Would it be feasible to extract the OutRun 2 SP title screen from PS2 and use that? Obviously it wouldn’t be high-res, but I prefer that title screen over C2C.

Your best bet is to look through the Outrun hacking forum. There's a 720p attract mode video by Howard (FXT guy). I haven't tested it myself, but it'll have the FXT logo on it though.

The Lindberg attract is nice, but would need some editing to replace the arcade button, wheels, and peddles for those that use a controller. Would also be missing that lovely subtle bloom of the Lindberg version, though.
