I've never seen anyone officially making this request, so i'll just leave it there.

I just don't care anymore at this point lol.

Can you post a video or something? I've only played a bit of the arcade version.

Ohh, that. It's either an MPEG or an animated texture loaded on top of the skybox, so I wonder how feasible it would be to hack it in.

Interestingly the PS2 version of SP also has some screen shake when the volcano erupts, which I guess they didn’t implement for Online Arcade.

They were indeed backported from Lindbergh to 2SP on PS2.

According to this post which seems to have been by a developer who worked on the port, the arcade version is an MPEG video, while the PS2 version is an animated texture.

Also, the credit sequences from the arcade version have sound effects, which don't seem to be present in other versions. Here's a video of the shuttle launch I found.

The shuttle launch and volcanic eruption are indeed mpeg encoded SFD movie files in the arcade, showing the animation and a black and white mask next to each other in the same video. They are pretty much the only such instances in the game, which I guess is why they were dropped, sadly

The volcano has sound effects on PS2 but not on OOA. Had to check on YouTube. Can't find a PS2 video with the shuttle though.

EDIT: nevermind, both can be seen in this gameplay video (shuttle has sound): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exCGSBETPzE

Neat. Another thing to hopefully restore!
