Verify Hybrid Model MySQL in AWS and Risk Acceptance #33

[SD]: I really need to understand if this hybrid model will work for this application I.e. applications/web tier stays on-prem and database tier will by migrated to the AWS RDS instance.

[SD]: Is there any application performance benchmark needs to be reviewed I.e. network latency, response time etc. The network latency from Emory on-prem Data Center to AWS (northern Virginia) across our direct connect links has been measured to be around 15ms.

[SD]: The migration to the AWS cloud is our 1st choice as per the current direction, but we can also do the on-prem upgrade if the application wants to stay on-prem due to some business/legal reasons or technical computability issue with the AWS cloud or potential performance issue with the hybrid model approach.

ACTION: testing team will be able to see any delay and we could assess that with user testing in QA.

ACTION: share our plan with the OIT team - is there a difference between backing out of QA vs PROD

Hybrid model is working for OpenEmory. High confidence this is not an issue. Closing the ticket.
