packages are update to date
downgrade hyprland maybe
could give it a try, though pretty sure hyprland was up to date before just with older dots when no freezing was happening. wish it wasn't so random, went a few days without one after switching to DKMS nvidia packages since I thought it was gpu related, but guess not.
curious if anyone else will pop up with similar experience, or could just throw it in the hyprland issues thread.
I am not sure if this is the case and I haven't looked into it further but after myself having regular freezes on an AMD system (Ryzen 5800x3d and rx 7800xt) running Arch I have been running hyprland with those 4 lines commented out from the execs.conf file
/usr/lib/geoclue-2.0/demos/agent & gammastep
at line 3polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1
at line 11sleep 1 && dbus-update-activation-environment --systemd WAYLAND_DISPLAY XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP
at line 14And so far after a whole night I didn't get any freezes
Hey all, been using end-4 dots for some time and been a pretty chill experience, don't really have the time in uni to make the ones I would like. Due to some weird temp stuff and me wanting to test out another distro I have ended up back on Arch with end-4 dots.
Completely at random however, I'll get a complete freeze up, no mouse, no sounds, only option is force restart. Seemingly no trigger. Could be doing nothing and come back after a bit to it frozen, or just move my mouse to a new firefox tab and freezes.
I run a 21' G14 with an external monitor, thought it may be nvidia shit, but I switched to AMD integrated graphics and still got some freezes. Not even sure what logs I could possibly show for that, it being so sporadic is quite annoying. And I know hyprland is hyprland, but on a previous end-4 build on arch that I was using and didn't update, never had the issue. Curious if anyone has had similar experiences or solutions. thanks in advanced.
packages are update to date and I have read the troubleshooting. also read a bunch of posts and have seen some similar issues though wanted to corroborate my findings and if anyone has gotten past it.
