Custom materials seem to be a topic a lot of people struggle with. It hence would make sense to add some more error checking and warning messages to SEUT to help with those.
[x] Invalid / altered node setup. Many people new to SEUT assume they can alter the node tree, which is not possible at all. The tutorial covers this but it would probably be good to add a warning on export for it.
[x] Material technique not supporting the linked texture files / nodes.
If I would check whether nodes are not just present but also connected, it would even be possible to display errors instead of just warnings, which would heighten the visibility.
