Self Revival Bug #1

Open WubTheGame opened 7 years ago

WubTheGame commented 7 years ago

This bug can happen several times.

Symptoms: You are alive with an empty health and shield bar. You can revive yourself with only a bag. after getting downed again you skip bleedout mode. Anything else i may not have found.

It does work when: You are in single player or are the host of a multiplayer heist. You are in bleedout mode You are out of bleedout mode but still not fully alive or in custody. You have more than one bag.

It does not work when: You have the skill Swan Song and the skill is currently in effect. You do not have a bag to throw. You are not the host. You have only one bag.

The bug is still reproduced in V1.10.3

Test done: Played diamond store on death sentece no AI and no swang song Picked two bags and raised the alarm Upon being downed, throwing a bag causes instant revive Being killed again causes the player to be downed but unable to shoot or throw bags

Tested both on single player, and online mode as host

Almost three years after I post this issue, it's still not fixed? That's kind of impressive considering there's only 13 closed issues, and I moved on from this game almost a year and a half ago. XD

Actually, I was impressed too when I found it was still reproduced. When I took the time to fix some bugs and make some improvements, I saw there were some issues reported a long time ago. So I figured the issues list was just not updated or maintained, but thought it had been fixed. Yesterday I took some time to test some of the issues and was awkwardly surprised to see this bug isn't fixed xd

Now that I've actually looked at the releases (Latest ones are from Github Actions), it's clear this mod was abandoned a long time ago, just like my brain abandoned the memory of me posting this probably only shortly after doing so.

I can perfectly understand discontinuing a mod though, I've done it before as I used to mod Borderlands 2. I still find this situation funny though since there's little indication of the mod being abandoned by it's original creator, and even more so since despite apparently getting updates from other people (Really just you tbh), the issues here have been ignored entirely. How do you do that?

I'm not sure I understard your question, or whether it's just a retorical one.

If you mean how/why did I ignore the issues here, I actually started by just fixing a bug on my local version of the mod, as it bothered me when I was playing (If I remember correctly, the issue was a bag was being lost when playing on stealth only). Then, I figured it might be useful to actually add those changes into the mod, so I created a pull request. From there, I just went with the flow, fixing the bugs that bothered me, or implementing stuff I thought was useful, such as logs or autoupdates.

It was retorical, but I still appreciate the explanation. I find it interesting to know the thought process behind things like this.
