Life Focus

Overview:

Concepts:

  1. Shooting (Jump Shots)

    • Load (Legs)
    • Lift (two hands move the around a noodle to your hair line)
    • Line (Eventual Goal: Single Arm Shooting)
    • Laces (Hand in Cookie Jar)
  2. Dribbling:

    • your finger tips are the steering wheel for the ball
    • your body is a shield for the ball

Practice Tempo

1 min rest & listen; 5 minute working = 6 min sessions x 10 rotations


Pre-practice:

Rotations

  1. Lay on Back Shooting in the air
    • focus on lift, line, and laces the rest of practice will
  2. Loop Shoot
    • If a coach is in front of you, you need to go around, switch hands
  3. Dribble Mirror
  4. Wylie Coyote (Pass, Dribble, Jump Stop, Pivot)
  5. Snatch dribble shoot - "Snatch For short"
    • ball in the middle (shoulders facing bucket)
    • grab it
    • defense is going to mirror the ball, and yells 5 mississippi, 4 mississippi, 3 etc, 2, 1
    • offense wants to score or at least get under the bucket (3 pt per bucket, 1 pt for advance)
    • defense wins (if the offense
  6. Water and Bathroom Break
  7. Dribble Wars
  8. Shooting Pairs
  9. Green Light Red Light Jump Stop, Pivot, Spin back pass
  10. No activity - just cushion time - with extra time - just doing more "Green, Red light"
