Needed help/suggestions with large worlds #136

grey unloaded empty areas

Hello, I'm relatively new to Mineways, and needed your help with rendering and filling in the grey checkered squares that are unloaded chunks all around my large main build. I wanted a smooth background without any missing chunks and wanted to know if you have any tips to quickly fill them in the world so that they don't appear near my build in MIneways and in the render. I tried increasing render distance, simulation distance and roaming around in-game, but it didn't help much. Adding ticking areas is very tedious for such a large build and is a limited tool.

Huh, that's strange. I would have assumed that walking around in these areas would make Minecraft create the chunks. I don't understand why they're either not getting created or (maybe?) not getting read by Mineways - I assume it's the former.

You might want to post your question on the Mineways Discord channel, under #questions. Maybe someone else will have some ideas. One "maybe that would work" idea would be to export your model without the background, then use another (properly formed) world and export four large chunks of background, for putting around the edges of your model (since the actual background can be anything).

Ping on this - any luck posting elsewhere, or figuring it out? I'll probably close this issue eventually if it doesn't appear to be a bug with Mineways.

My laptop is currently occupied in rendering, I haven't been able to properly check the issue since, so I'm unsure. Might revisit the issue later when I'm back to importing worlds.
