This problem looks like it may be limited to Opera for Linux

The original report was definitely on Windows

See if this is replicable in the latest Opera before spending time on it. Opera 12 is approximately eight bazillion versions ago and runs on a completely different rendering engine, and anyone still using it (like, er, me) accepts the internet is not going to look as intended.
