Figure 10 #17

Figure 10 is clear and consistent with Figure 2 (with a minor typo under the first green bar of Figure 10). Do Figures 8 and 9 provide any evidence that PB1 PB2 and HA do not travel together as a complex? If not, I think it is safe to leave them out of the paper.

I'm not sure what to do here. I like quantifying the phylogenetic patterns with SPR distance and ΔTMRCA, but SPR distance does appear to lack power (wide CIs).

I don't think the first point (about Figures 10 & 2) is entirely fair, because those figures are not independent lines of evidence. I would be willing to reconsider putting Figure 8 into supplementary materials, but before I do I'll run the SPR distances using slightly more conservative reassortment estimates and see whether power can be improved. ΔTMRCA is definitely staying though.

More conservative SPR distances don't show any appreciable changes from what we currently have.
