This is an experimental node.js powered Quad Tile server written in CoffeeScript to render geo data from a postgres database.
Its purpose is to create map overlays in a convenient way using a server-side version of the HTML5 Canvas element.
It supports different tile modes:
Rendering a heatmap overlay based on geo points.
Rendering a very simple street map based on the OpenStreetMap schema.
It works very well with CloudMade's Leaflet map client - examples included.
But of course it also works with any other map client that supports overlays from a custom quad tile provider, like Google Maps or Bing Maps.
Note on rendering OpenStreetMap data: At the moment it doesn't really render much and it probably will never compete with other full sized map renderers like mapnik.
But you could use it e.g. to add a second tile layer to your map client and render some additional custom map features.
