Image does not boot again after Restart !!! #74

Hi ! after 6 months ... I'v build again for DreamONE !

This is the same if I reboot at the end of Start Wizard without storing anything !!!

Without crash log how can I figure out the problem and solved it ?!! Also I can not support image on multiboot (A lot of issues from multiboot) ... You need to test image on flash directly then you can figure out if the are problems or not in image!!

Well ... is not like that !!!The old image from june works well in multiboot !I dont have a crash log because the image ... does not crash !restarts as I request and then does not start enymore ! notby har self not called from GPT Plugin or Multiboot selection !!! I've reinstalled ... after Flash wizard ... FW reset ! and dissapearedfrom menu ... Multiboot selection ! image restartrs without crash !but cannot be bootet again ! Again .. As I said .. I can not support images work on multiboot ... The multiboot is big mystery story !!

So please before any thing test image on flash ! If image works fine then you will get the the problem from where exactly (from multiboot) ...

Well ... reading your GIT updates relatively to the BL111A and I've seen GPT Plugin installed ... I've imagine otherwise !Anyway ... I don't think is Multiboot related ! very old imagesare working fine in that environment ! even your image builtin june ! If you want to make it functional ... I can help ! First of all !!! thanks for the answer !In the Multiboot context , the image build by me in 3.12.23 and your image from 5.12.23 ... does not restart after flash wizard !The old image I've build in june 2023 ... is OK ! is restarting inMultiboot without any problem !!! No problem in image before or after full reboot device (DreamOne) an image booting just fine !!

All other images written into GPT Multiboot ... are working fine ,the old READ OpenPLi , OpenATV , OpenPLi 8.3 star , OpenBH PurE2 ... Gemini , Merlin ... all !!! The strange thing is that startsfor the first time ! is doing Start Wizard and become unbootable !!!

Don't compare an old image or a new one... Because new image always contain new and different updates in everything..

The real measure is not the multiboot but the internal flash.... If you ask any team about their support, they will answer you that the support is only on the internal flash and there is no support for the multiboot due to the many problems...

Therefore, you must experiment with the internal flash before everything else and make sure... and do not make the multiboot the true measure of the experiment...

Also .. Some friend tested image on (AT) multiboot of gutemin and image work just fine without any problems !!

@mihaip1948 As I got some feedback from some friends ... You are right. Image does not booting if installed with gpt option ... Just work fine if install with any multiboot plugin (not gpt) or flash it on internal flash ...

I have opened this issue gain until to solve it !! But I don't know when. Because I do not have Dreamone/Two device

Problem was solved if I've made a backup image with GPT Plugin then I've restored that backup with the same plugin ! this rebuildsthe boot partition ... and from now on all was OK ! the boot is normal ! Pe duminică, 10 decembrie 2023 la 21:42:18 EET, RAED @.***> a scris:

Can you please send to me the result of this command from telnet ... I need the result from original image after flash it with gpt and another result from gpt backup after restore it and boot image again !!

During restore , the GPT Plugin rebuild the boot partition ! that one could be damagedand responsible for bot booting !!!

Same behavior ! after Start Wizard ... does not reboot !!!but after backup/restore all is OK ... and does Full Restart repeatedly !!!

I don't know exactly what happens because I don't have dreamone/two !! But I think the problem is from mounting after reboot image the boot missing mount .. Maybe not sure !! Or maybe from other packages updated from openembedded-core !!

Well I've made a new test ! On the working image , after "repair".I've made a "FW reset" ... all went well ! reboot was fine !So ... all the bad things happen before Start wizard ! during first start ! can you trace the execution into a log ! Hi RAED ! The news ar good and bad !!!1) the good news - image reboots ( Full Restart) OK ! as manytimes you want !2) I've tested all the other images in multiboot ... are OK ! 3) the bad news ! something with Network is not OK !!!- is not detected during Start Wizard- can be setup in normal opperation ... works in WebIF butrefuses to connect Telnet and FTP- after Full Restart the detected Network was forgoten !!!setup again ... and again !!! in ETH as well in WiFi

So after full reboot. I'm booting fine now with GPT. No more boot freezing !!!

About Network. This is e2 issue. But I don't have this issue on DM920 and DM800se. And I did not got any feedback from any one about that issue ?!! Stranger what happens from you !!

Boot is fine ! Network is detected from Menu , ETH and WiFi , is workingfrom WebIF , but this status is not saved ! after Reboot ... Network isreset and must be redefined ! I've tried to enter in Telnet and ask a ... sync !access was refused ! the same with FTP ! E2 did not ask a user and password ...simply refused !   1. we are back to the last error ! network detected during Start Wizard !2. after Full Restart image does not boot again !3. forced reboot to the GPT Multiboot host image ( Gemini AIO ) andfrom GPT Plugin ... backup Open Pli and restore the backup ... imageboot normal any time ! and does not forget detected Network ! About GPT Multiboot ! there are 2 versions !
    1. OpenATV host for GPT Multiboot , populate with images and bootany of them from Multiboot selector ! this is done by the usage ofsome GPT acces module ! witch writes into GPT the BootConfig.txt !Simple images , as yours , can modify bootconfig.txt but nobody write this back to GPT system ! so you cannot use Multiboot selectorun;es you incorporate some GPT access module !!! This can be solvedby installing ad .DEB under OPKG the GLT Plugin and modify it a littleto accept OpenE2 images ! very simple ! Then ... from GPT Pluginyou can navigate into Multiboot establishing before reboot the destination !!!
    2. Gemini AIO as host for GPT Multiboot ! here GPT Plugin is the only toolused to populate Multiboot with images and to establish the next imageto boot ! GPT Plugin from Gemini installs in every image he writes ...the GPT Plugin ! so the controlled reboot is establish using this inDreamOS images or using a "modified" GPT Plugin in OpenE2 images !!! I have two Dream ONE .. 2*S2 and a Combo ! the first one is with OpenATVMultiboot the second one with DreamOS Multiboot ! so I know both systemsby my own experience ! The conclusion ... Multiboot Selector is not enough ! recognize the filesin /data , can establish the desired destination ... but nobody care of this !!!this is common for all OpenE2 images ... The issue of SAT scan not starting is not yours !!! is inherited !!!I saw it on a totally different STB ! exactly the same !!!

But Network I can not do any things with log or any things to read it and figure out the problem ..

So you need to do this (Exactly what I will write) : 1-Flash this image and test full reboot image if booting or does not ?! Give feedback Please !! 2-If booting fine do restart enigma2 and look if network working or does n ot ?!! if not then enable debug log from menu > setup > system > Log manage > settings > Enable debuge log* 3-In first option set your patch to save log files 4-do restart enigma2 5-And finally Please send to me the debug log

Image does not reboot after flash ! so I've reflashed ... enabled logs !into original image and Reboot ! the same reboot that did not work !!! so to access logs I've backup/restored ... the restart enigma2 and saved the old log and  the new one !!! If the image does not booting, then there is no point in debug at all !! And Stranger image does not booting !

Network issue because image compile with default kernel 5.15 in core ... If I use (OLDEST_KERNEL="4.9") with compile ... image works fine on internal flash or by multiboot (alan Turing) with every things (Only with GPT does not boot) ... https://github.com/fairbird/openpli-dreambox-oe-core/commit/87bbe627959946a4b07ea4ca6d9919e93c0f974f

The image posted in OpenATV 7.4 Download section I've allready tested ! everything is OK !!! If yours build  is different ... will see !

Yes .. My built is OpenATV should be 7.5 not 7.4 ... 7.4 depend on old gcc 12 7.5 depend on gcc 13.2 as my images ..

So OpenATV still not ready ..

I will compile new test image (My image not openatv with some update core files then I will send to you to test it)

Yes .. My built is OpenATV should be 7.5 not 7.4 ... 7.4 depend on old gcc 12 7.5 depend on gcc 13.2 as my images ..
