I hope that people understand that it is a fake, it also forked InnerTune with a spammed website.

I wrote in fake RiMusic about it in the issue and also reported it to Github because I don't like being listed in the README. I think the more of us that report such crap the better...

I've sent a note to Innertune as well. What I miss with Github is a way to report things confidentially, so the repo owners can decide whether to make it public…

That copycat at least kept the license. Going by their owner details, it seems to be a 17 year old. Maybe not aware of how FOSS works. I thought about leaving him a "friendly note" pointing out credits should be given, and especially the work of others not presented as one's own.

Given the fact they copied multiple apps that way, a notice might be due. Not sure if one of us should ship it directly – but you as affected party could report it to Github (ah, crossing in: @ikanakova did just that). I remember another copycat was "brought down" the same way not too long ago.

Though I tend to give the benefit of doubt, seeing "spammed website" clearly strikes that out.

I think that the user is not real and that he is not 17 years old, surely he is an adult who uses the success of other apps to do phishing. I have never reported a user to github, I have no idea how to report a user or repository.

Do you have any idea how to report securely and not be banned from github?

Founded, reported and blocked. From the user profile at the bottom left is the report or block item. I have also blocked this user so it can't update RiMusic repo.
