minimum OS version is not enforced on macOS setup #24012

Fleet version: Fleet 4.59.0 • Go go1.23.1 Web browser and operating system: n/a

💥  Actual behavior

Minimum OS version via DDM in OS Updates is 14.6.1 but the device completes the setup assistant running 14.5

🧑‍💻  Steps to reproduce

  1. reproduced with https://dogfood.fleetdm.com/hosts/1019 in canary workstations team (dogfood) running 14.5
  2. wipe device
  3. walk through Setup Assistant

It is expected that as part of the Setup experience, the minimum OS would be enforced.

This behaviour was noticed while dogfooding Fleet at Fleet.

Looks like a duplicate of https://github.com/fleetdm/fleet/issues/22361, should be resolved in the upcoming release. I'll close this as a duplicate and we can re-open if it's still not working after 4.61.0
