Brief installation notes for oVDI and necessary drivers:
As of yet, only color depths 1, 8 and 15/16 bpp is supported by oVDI. Also, the only graphics drivers as of yet needs emulator.prg from the Nova VDI package to drive the hardware. I plan to add the remaining 2, 4 colordepths and write drivers for TT and Falcon as soon as possible. So, at this time one needs emulator.prg to test oVDI. Then I'll add 24 and 32 bpp support, first real oVDI driver will be one for ET6000. The ET6K has untapped potential ;-)
installation for Nova users;
Put ovdi.prg into your autofolder. Maybe you need to rename ovdi.prg to sta_vdi.prg.
Disable sta_vdi.prg (original Nova VDI).
Create a folder on your boot partition called ovdisys (i.e. c:\ovdisys) and put the following driver into it; nova.vdi (Not et6knova.vdi unless you're using Hades and ET6k) avbi.vdi bioskbd.vdi etv_time.vdi ikbdmice.vdi
Copy ovdi.cnf to your bootpartition, and edit it to suit your needs.
Now its reboot time. oVDI should start, tell you if successfully loaded the modules and ask you for a key. As soon as you press the key, oVDI will take over the console, and you should see the console font you selected.
It should now work. Send reports to me or the MiNT mailing list.
Installation for non-Nova users; Not yet, you dont!
