@CaroMac I don't know what Algolia is really. Can you explain pls ? Also, who is needed to do this work ? What skills are required ? And what priority should this item have relative to other docs changes ?
@techcobweb, I was working with people in the content team that are focal points for gathering stats on the various websites and using them to prioritise improvements and get feedback on the impact of updates that are made. They suggested this would be a useful statistic to gather. Algolia was added to the website primarily in order to provide a search facility, but it also does gather stats. I was going to have a read through of the documentation in the new year and see what might need to be done. I do not think it is hugely urgent as we can check SEO in other ways, so I am prioritising documentation of other issues for now. I am hoping once I read the information linked I can work out what needs to be done and if I might need help or not to do it. I just didn't want to forget about it which is why I raised the issue.
Story
As a Galasa team member, I want to track click through rates on the website, so that I can assess the effectiveness of the site SEO.
Background
Although the Algolia search queries are tracked by default, search clicks need to be enabled separately via click events. Currently Galasa hasn’t got that enabled, hence no tracked searches or Click through rate info. This doc explains how to enable CTR (click event) tracking: https://www.algolia.com/doc/guides/search-analytics/concepts/metrics/ CTR will be important in assessing the effectiveness of the site SEO.
