I've seen this before myself and haven't been able to debug it yet. I can
usually recreate the password file and I will be able to login.
1. Delete the existing login.properties file.
2. Create an empty login.properties file
3. Run the utility to create a new password: java -jar addUser.jar
4. type in your username and password
Restart Stokerweb and try the login again.

OK. It turns out, this was my error. I am running windows 8.1 and not too
savy with java. I've been double clicking the runStokerweb.jar file from the
folder window. When I double clicked the addUser.jar file, nothing happened.
You suggestion to run the script java -jar addUser.jar prompted me to run this
script in a command prompt. I realized, I needed to be in the folder that the
.jar files exists. This ran and I created the login.properties file. I am
logged in now, but I am not getting a plot. Is the plot supposed to show up
automatically? Thanks for your help.

Well, since running the addUser.jar file from the command prompt worked, I
decided to start over and run the runStokerweb.jar from the command prompt.
This started the extraction and prompted me to create a user name and password.
Everything set up, I went the localhost path. It connected, and I logged in.
However, still not plot. I selected the configure button and the dialog
opened. I found by accident that the probe and blowers listed on the left hand
side were dragging. I figured I would try dragging them to the proper location
on the right hand side according to their function. I hit update, and the plot
monitors appeared. The next logical step was to hit the New button. This
started the plotting.
Not being much of a computer programmer, I haven't been this excited since I
got my first BASIC program to run back in the mid 90's.
I am at the end of my cook time, so my plots are straight lines. However, I am
going to get another slab of swine and do this again so I can see how it cooks
over night.

After updating the configuration, the graphs should start to populate even
without creating a new log. There is always a default graph and you can "log"
a cook which will log only selected probes and save that to a specific file.
When you choose to end the log, you can create a pdf report of the cook, with
the graph included.
