using an empty in blender, we can make a spawn point..
using an internal flag, we can set a "test" spawn point, using a hotkey can teleport the viewport to that spawn point in blender and enable walk mode. this should help a bit for some quick preview testing before exporting as you get a better "game-like" view of the level.
