Preview of update #1

Is there any preview of update for this patch?

Is it necessary to have sysctl hw.acpi.acpiout3.brightness working? I have mine set to 0 and even if I set it 90, it displays as being updated, but returns (or never changes from) 0. This way I'm not sure if this patch will work for me.

This patch is not testable yet... It's an attempt to unify brightness management accross the various drivers that may manage it, bit there's still a lot of work to do...
