I can't see this. I signed up for a new account and did not specify the gender the avatar is grey as it should be. After I choose the gender the avatar changes accordingly. It also works like this for existing accounts.
Ok, I'll check it out from a different browser. Make sure you update you master branch, I made some changes over the weekend and deployed to staging.

You might need to clear your cache too. Do you mean you did changes in the staging branch only? I did a pull and there was not any changes.

I made updates to the master branch, merged w/ staging, then deployed the staging branch.

I cleared my cache and tried a different browser and I'm still getting the blue avatar (tested in Firefox and Safari). See attached. Do you have a screenshot of what it should look like?

I do not see your attachment. When you see the blue avatar what was the gender of the user? If you see blue it should be male. The gray is only used for unknown genders.
Can we assign the grey to all genders?

The Avatar is still blue in staging. I thought Zoltan made one that was grey?
