Hey! I understand your suggestion of inverting the value for background, but I think it would be more confusing to most users, since it would be working different than the other visibility sliders on the app.
Yes, the background is basically a black box taking over the screen. You can change the black to any other color using TvOverlayRemote with Premium, but I think that what f.lux does is more complex than that. I will spend some time understanding how it works and see if I can bring something similar to TvOverlay soon.
Thanks!
There already exist an app that does exactly that. Available for Android TV too.
Twilight: Blue light filter https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.urbandroid.lux
Consider inverting the background visibility so it can be treated as like a "Brightness" adjuster for TV's.
I assume all you're doing is rendering a translucent black rectangle over the screen. If that's the case, I wonder if it would be possible to overlay something red-ish and/or somehow filter out the blue light. I'm a big fan of f.lux and the various win/mac/android/ios takes on it. A few of my TV's have the feature, but I generally only want to use it at night.
It would be awesome to have brightness and/or blue blocking sliders that I can throw on a card or automate in home assistant.
Really nice work so far! Looking forward to where this project goes.
