Firefox from version 23 and other browsers may block unsecure AJAX calls (over HTTP) from sites which were initiated from secured connection (over HTTPS). Thus an obvious fix to get AJAX calls is from '//ebi.ac.uk/...' not from 'http://ebi.ac.uk' or whatever. This were fixed in virtualfolder and seems to be present in PDB components. However these components fails because subsequent AJAX query is blocked:
PDB-REDO component initiates request to www.cmbi.ru.nl, browser refuses to connect to it: www.cmbi.ru.nl uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because it was signed using a signature algorithm that was disabled because that algorithm is not secure. The certificate is only valid for www.cmbi.umcn.nlError code: SEC_ERROR_CERT_SIGNATURE_ALGORITHM_DISABLED
PDB-Residue interaction initiates request to www.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk, browser again refuses to connect to it: www.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed.The certificate is not valid for the name www.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk.The certificate expired on 21 June 2016 at 15:07. The current time is 5 May 2017 at 14:32.Error code: SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER
https://portal.west-life.eu/virtualfolder/index-dataset.html E.g. when entering 3isw, the PDB redo fails: Error: fail response the PDB Residue interaction fails: Error: loading API data While the same at local installation of Westlife VM http://localhost/virtualfolder/index-dataset.html works
