Notes from meeting

For RP20 (Intern Interaction with HfLA teams, the main question from the group was: "What will this research tell us that we don't already know from conducting research on the interns and mentors?"
What we currently know:
- Research will inform what we choose to do next with the internship.
- HfLA teams may have insights about the successes and challenges that interns faced. This information may not have been available to mentors and due to their level of experience in a tech workplace interns themselves may have not been aware of their progress or shortcomings.
As a UX team, we plan on developing a research plan after confirming with Bonnie on direction.
Once a general research plan is identified, we can send out a screener survey to individuals who interacted with interns (if we do not have their names). This screener survey could identify whether the HfLA volunteers met a specified threshold of time that they spent interacting with the interns. If they interacted with them "enough," then they will be asked for a follow-up interview.

Ran into a blocker with Ying's onboarding on account of GitHub verification to the write team.
Reviewed Natalia's issue on the glossary and helped clarify the difference between official and review links.
Reviewed Angela's issue and reviewed how to take up prioritized back log issues.
- Remember that when it says "Review/Update" that you do not need to review or update the accompanying documentation.
- Primary goal is to update the wiki pages. Our current task with #276 is to put ourselves in future UXRs shoes and put all documentation on the wiki pages in a place that reduces the need to do any further examination into old (and disorganized) issues.

Discussion of re-analyzing RP001

Value of reanalyzing RP001 data to create Action Items Spreadsheet that includes insights that were generated by minimizing confirmation bias
Linda discussed the idea of deductive coding, where you know what you're looking for but you're not biasing your analysis based upon what you're looking for
- Directed content analysis
- Linda's resource on rapid research
Next week Linda will give a demo:
- Rapid qualitative analysis and how we might use it to analyze past and current recordings
- Need interview guide in order to do demo.
- Rapid approach summarizes information from a Word document and transforms that information into a spreadsheet (row = Participant; column = domain (interview question))

Went through how to do an "update wiki" issue
- Look at old issues
- Find documentation and save them to the drive
- Create shortcuts on drive
- Come to team meeting with questions regarding uncovered findings in previous issues
Discussed how to proceed with "research structure" issues
- Important to edit the "outstanding task items" if there is no research roadmap info or research plan
- For the research roadmaps that are completed, we need to define which issues need to be created to carry out the research plan
Addressed some of the concerns with terminology like "descriptive codes" vs "interpretive codes"
Discussed plans to move forward with developing a guide for the rapid qualitative analysis method.
