Game Progression

Described below is the flow of the game from start to finish as depicted in this Link to UX Diagram and Notecard1, Notecard2.

  • Left/right arrows to select a ship architecture
  • "Go!" Button
• Cut scene
  • Short, 20-30 second cut scene spoken in Toki Pona
  • Explains that the water is rising, and rats must rise to escape being eaten by it
• Gameplay loop
• End Game
  • Simple screen showing a graphic of the ship exiting the sewer, with a human city in the background

Gameplay loop

• Wye Select
  • Left-to-right grid of nodes
  • "Where to cap'n?"
  • When a Wye node is selected, it plays a little animation
  • "Go!" button
• Wye Combat
  • Must survive the Wye as the water level rises, so that a specified "Exit Gate" can be reached
  • Indicator icons of currently alive crew members, and their health
  • Indicator bar of current waterlog level
• Wye Loss
  • Graphic showing floating wood shards and a captain's hat
  • "Sunken and Forgotten. You and your crew belong to the sewer now."
  • A "New Ship" button
• Wye Victory
  • "Invictus!"
  • Inventory?
  • Tabs to select "repair" or "upgrade"
  • Button for "Continue"
• This cycle continues until the final Wye is reached and cleared.
