I was able to reproduce this on 10.14. It worked before, must have broken in a recent version. Will dig further.

More info:

It sometimes doesn't freeze immediately when opening the app. But when attempting to resize the app, it freezes quite reliably.
Freezing doesn't happen with 2.16.0-pre.17. It starts with 2.16.0-pre.18.
