OSC Text Info Feedback #380

Please support ReaLearn sending text feedback directly to OSC devices (instead of only through projection feature).

Projection is great, but in my case for example, ReaLearn is used to enhance a TouchOSC setup and direct parameter/name feedback would be more helpful. Any general info such as "last undo point" or current region/marker name, etc.

Thanks so much! I know this will help a lot of people. I'm suffering from "customization-burnout" atm, but it'll be great to complete some of my unfinished ideas.

Btw, speaking of unfinished ideas, any progress with the clips feature? I've been stuck using Ableton for that and was just wondering if it's been abandoned?

Not at all, it's not abandoned. It's still experimental but I'm looking into improving it, for sure. It has much potential and the approach that it takes is technically already better than that of Playtime.

The only reason why I haven't improved them already is that I was busy working on some more fundamental features.

Did you use the experimental clip targets already? You can suggest improvements if you want. Some of the improvements I have in mind:

Cool, thanks for the info! Glad clips didn't fall through the cracks. But since record wasn't working, I haven't had much reason to dive into the feature. I'll be sure to make suggestions when I do. You'll probably end up regretting asking... 😜

Basically I plan to use it very similar to how it works in Live, but with some color customizations etc. I bought a LaunchPad X just for this purpose and supposedly they were designed to facilitate all us tinkerers. I guess in the meantime I could start mapping it out as a controller preset, since there isn't one yet. I'm not sure why the colors are so inaccurate in Ableton (solid primary colors are clearly possible), but I'd endeavor to improve on that.

It's an exciting prospect to be able to customize that aspect of my workflow, and indeed to have some input in the feature development. It's a new way of writing for me, but I'm finding it helps a lot with arrangements to start non-linearly and then record a live sketch to build on. Just wanting to be able to do it all in Reaper. Can't wait to try it out, so plz lemme know about the recording feature.
