Markdown text format

Current

As an editor using Hedgedoc for my drafts, I would like to c/p my draft in markdown format.

The markdown filter should allow the following:

• external links
• em, strong, s (strikethrough), abbr, span
• attributes: lang, title, class
• headings h2, h3, h4
• basic tables

No need to support (or rather disallow):

• media assets (images, files,...)

We are using the Markdown module with commonmark now, via a dedicated markdown text filter.

To Do:

• [ ] review markdown configuration at /en/admin/config/content/markdown/commonmark
• [ ] review implementation at /en/admin/config/content/formats/manage/markdown
• [ ] Uninstall + remove drupal/editor_md

Looks really good but couldn't try out so far.

Installed:

• drupal/editor_md:^3.2
• league/commonmark

Added dedicated text format "markdown", running into an error See: https://www.drupal.org/project/markdown/issues/3103679

Not sure whether to apply a patch (all untested?) or the dev version ...

Revisited: we won't support markdown in wysiwyg editors. However, it's possible to switch the text filter - but this will break the formatting.
