[x] To ensure optimal multi-path visualization, please make sure that the nodes (classes, the rectangles) are always in front of the paths by moving them to the end of the SVG in preprocessing.
[x] This is necessary because there seems to be no way to achieve this in the source yEd graphml file. Please also raise this issue with the yEd developers, they are really nice and quick to respond in my experience.

there are already open issues for yEd wishing for layers which could solve our problem, so we won't create another one, but it seems unlikely they will implement it soon
implementing this in preprocessing using regular expressions is not practical
current approach: preprocess this in JavaScript. This has the disadvantage of a calculation that has to be done every time the application is loaded but it is unlikely to use significant amounts of time.
