The tool tip should show category and continuous value in same way as standard in Spotfire. This is how it is currently rendered.

Similar information in bar chart looks like the following

Current layout in Sankey

Romny >> Trump >> Trump 179

Romny >> Trump >> Trump: 179

Layout similar to bar chart would be using category axis name including split up into path parts and continuous axis name

Sum(Electoral Votes): 179 Candidate 2012: Romney Candidate 2016: Trump Candidate 2020: Trump
