Hi and I can’t say thank you enough for making any of this work. Sorry I’m new to this and now enough to make it work but not enough to fix it…
Describe Your Problem:My embarrassing issue is that after day one of setting up the devices I have that are not native to HomeKit but do work with SmartThings everything worked great (except NEST thermostat). Happy I had accessories I could use with HomeKit. I eventually acquired a few more… now my ignorance.
I have added my new Globe plugs to the native Globe app; I have added names and locations for the plugs; I have successfully added them to the smart things app. And they successfully work from the smart things app. But now how do I add the new tile to home kit to reflect my new plugs???? Originally I thought I would just use the homebridge QR code for the child bridge but the new interface removes it after “ set up of the first or initial use”
If there is instructions on how to add “new” items that would be great.
Because apple also has no way of replacing an old item with a new item with out reprogramming all the relevant information that goes with that item. For instance, if a lightbulb burns out and you put a new one in there is no way to tell HomeKit this lightbulb replaces the old one. Please use all the same programming so if I don’t have to remove the bridge to reinstall it in order for it to recognize all of the new devices that would be ideal, but that is the only solution I can think of at the moment…
If you or for that matter (no pun intended) anyone else can answer this that would be great!!!!!!
