Introduce link shortener #57

Closed aheusingfeld closed 11 years ago

As mentioned in https://intern.innoq.com/statuses/updates/975, some links might even be longer than 140 chars.

Therefore we should introduce an optional link shortener service. This could e.g. be a button "shorten links". This way the author is free to decide whether he wants to use the shortener or not.

-1, that seems to be overkill to me.

I'd say a "nice to have, priority 472*"

'* NOTE: prio 1 is the highest ;)

stilkov commented 11 years ago

No, I disagree. Adding features with that priority overcomplicates the whole thing. It's like adding (optional) support for followers, retweets, etc.; all potentially useful, but don't pass the "do we really need this" test.

A link shortener as a separate project: That could be useful.

Ok, agree on that! Don't want to let others track us via their shorteners.
