I have exactly the same problem.
wallet 2.4.0 --> balance 0, transaction history 0 (> 1000 addresses checked) wallet 2.5.0 --> balance 0, transaction history 0 (transition guide feature missing?)
Please help!!
thx mario
I have same problem. History empty, balance 0
I solved this. You need to creat many adresses in RECEIVE page and attach them to tangle. After 15th new adresses i got my balance back
i get always invalid hashrate error
U need update wallet to 2.5.1
Con la versión iota-2.5.1, y generando nuevas direcciones de recepcion y añadiendo al tangle, se ha solucionado el problema
@Flashneo Thank a lot for the comment regarding generating new addresses in the receive section of the wallet. Totally worked. I had a difficult time finding assistance anywhere online (took me 15 minutes to find this post on slack).
I did it over 20 times now but without success. I used the old seed still, i.e. did not transition at all. Shall this still work?
It should work. The time it requires should depend on how much proof of work your computer can perform. But yes, I used my old seed to log in, and then kept attaching addresses to the tangle inside my receive section and then I continued to generate new addresses. Please let me know if it doesn't work.

If not, what you need to do is migrate. Go to your tools settings and you should see something that says "Transition" I"ll send you a link soon.

i did; but after transfer was balance also 0
Fascinating. So when you transitioned, it should have prompted you to confirm your balance. Did it ask you your balance as you were transitioning?
This is the tutorial I used, I think.

thanks for the link. i did everything as in the tuturial written. i guess the main strange thing was the transicion was successful but the balance / transacion was always showed as "pending".
now the old SEED and new SEED is showing balance 0 and history 0
Okay, I would log into both and try generating seeds and go back and forth. I've heard of some people having to do a lot of proof of work and it taking longer than usual.

It's like checking if your gas tank is empty when the car won't start, but I would go to the wallet and click on about and ensure you are running the most up to date wallet and that the download was successful.

of the new or old SEED?
using 2.5.1 wallet for mac
I would try under both seeds.
So help me to understand, you downloaded new wallet, then tried to transition, did so successfully (without the funds), and then created a new seed under the 2.5.1 wallet?
What should've happened is that you transited under the old wallet, then download the new wallet, then simply create a new seed with the new wallet.
If that's not what you did, I would try uninstalling the newest wallet, re-downlaoding the old wallet, logging in with the old seed, ensure that you still don't need to transition, if you don't need to transition, keep generating new addresses and attaching to tangle until the funds appear. If you need to transition, try again.
Have you checked a tangle explorer to see if you can see a balance for any of the two wallet seeds?

I did not transition (unfortunately) but read that it is too late for transitioning now. I tried it again yesterday for multiple times using version 2.4.0 but my balance constantly showed zero despite more than 1000 addresses checked. I then canceled the transition so never got a new seed. Using the old seed, I had downloaded version 2.5.1 and generated many new addresses but my balance constantly showed zero.
I also read that if you have not done the transition by now, you need to wait until a new version of the wallet is released which will allow to reclaim your balance since these were transferred to the foundation now.

@mckalex you are sure about the fact that it is too late now for transition?
if balance was moved to iota foundation i am a bit worried about the whole concept of iota as a third party is offically inforcing balance moves.
In general I'm not worried about ulterior motives from the IOTA foundation, though I'm like you and wouldn't let my guard down. I don't 'like' that process any more than you do and would love to hear about an alternative policy; however, each transition ought to be recorded on the Tangle.
Anyway, I am interested in seeing a source from the IOTA foundation concerning the tradition. If there's anything I can do to assist let me know. And do be sure to let me know the outcome of this situation. You'll get every iota due to you.

I didn't get anything back yet and I am a bit desperate in trying to generate even more addresses. Let me find back the announcement that said the funds were transferred to the foundation account and can be / need to be reclaimed. I don't like the process either since it's not exactly building up trust ...

Hello, I'm in the same bad situation and a bit desperate too.. I use version 2.4.0 and i try since 1 month to perform the transition without success ( balance show 0 after 1000 adresses generated,so not possible to perform this transition even following exactly the tutorial). So i steel have the old seed.
Before i could see my exact balance. Now, when i log in, my balance show 0.
What can i do to recover my balance ? Many thanks for your help.
Vincent
You should be asked to confirm your wallet balance when you clicked on transition. You will need to contact IOTA foundation about protocol for those who have yet transitioned. They need to be made aware before they can address it. Be prepared to do a small update every two months in the future for awhile.

Also the price of IOTA is in the rise, so by the time you recover your tokens, and you wil, you will be much richer than you are now.

Many thanks for your answer Thomas. But i don't understand all, when i clicked on transition, they asked my to enter the old seed and after that to generate adresses to complete my balance,I did it, balance still show 0, So i don't understand your sentence "You should be asked to confirm your wallet balance when you clicked on transition". Also, what is the contact adress of IOTA foundation to resolve my problem ?

By the way, do you think it's a bug or their is some thing wrong from my side ? I see that it was happenned for lots of people.
I do not think it's a bug, but it may be an oversight. It's probably wishful thinking on behalf of IOTA foundation to assume everyone will be quick to upgrade. The upgrades are a good thing, a sign they are moving along their road map of development.
While waiting, it may be worth while to try to uninstall 2.5.1 and reinstall it. Or, maybe even uninstall it, try to the 2.4 wallet again, and see what happens then. I'd be curious to know if you were to download the 2.4 wallet and login and see if there is a transition option beneath the tool bar.

what do you mean by " verify your balance"? when i want to do the transition, i enter my seed and a clik several time on "balance incomplete" because still at 0, that's all.
Look at the instructions there are some pictures included. You need to go to tools and transition if you are on 2.4

One question If transition is not working as i showed you on the attached file, can i download newest version 2.5.1 and try to recover my iota using attached tangle addresses ? ( so recover my iota without this transition phase, because i see that there is no transition when you use version 2.5.1.
I don't think so. I don't believe the 2.5.1 wallet has an option for transition because the developers anticipated people transitioning prior to the release, however, I am not certain. I don't see an attached file.

I would also encourage asking a question on the slack.iota.org help channel. The people on the slack channel have significantly more experience as iota developers than I do and would probably get back to you much quicker than even the Iota Foundation.
i already contact them, they didn't know and they sent me toward iota support. i confirm that there is no transition on version 2.5.1 that's why i ask you if i can recover my iota on this version whithout doing transition on last version.
So, for the 2.4 release, the Iota Foundation transferred your funds to a new wallet, so your funds will not be available to you in your old wallet at all. All the old key is good for is for the transition. You will need to transition before you an access the funds. Fortunately, your iota is safe in a new wallet, it's just accessing that wallet which is the problem.
Also, have you tried looking at your wallet transaction history using a node explorer? All you need to do is go to a node explorer website, copy in your wallet address, and you should be able to see transaction history.
you mean i would recover my iota on wallet release 2.5.1 ? history on this version show 3 addresses, ( 2 are pending and 1 confirmed) because i clicked on "receive" then "attached to tangle " 3 times to recover my balance, but still balance at 0.
and i didn't understand " go to node explorer website, copy in your wallet address". How do you do ? what i have to copy ? and where ?

Where can i find my wallet address ?
I don't know from where you took this information, but i understood that my funds is in safe place. I fact i just want to know what i have to do to access to this new wallet where there is my fund and how.
Many thanks for your feedback.
Sorry for the late response. You need to transition. The transition is where the IOTA foundation wrote code that literally moved your funds to a new address until you claim them using your seed. From my understanding, the transition is necessary. If there is not transition feature for 2.5.1, you will need to find another way.

Hi, I have just logged in to my account after several weeks and wanted to do the transition from my old seed to the new one. When using version 2.4.0, I fulled the transition guide precisely but despite >1000 addresses check, I could not recover my balance but only saw 0.
I also tried version 2.5.1 one - the lastest release - and can log in with my old seed but balance remains at zero despite re-attaching the tangle / generating new addresses. Any advice?
P.s.: I might have been in affected by the key re-use issue. Any chance to check that?
Thanks
