Restoring on a new identical device doesnt work #254

Hi, I have an Axon7 rooted with magisk and lineageos 15.1 running. I made a backup to s sdcard and I can see the package files on the cards filesystem (mounted via sdcardfs). Then I plugged the card into a new Axon7 with the same setup, followed the initial android/google setup and installed f-droid and oandbackup. When trying to restore via oandbackup I only "see" the apps I installed the new device, all as "not backup up yet". And yes, I set the backup directory to the right location, I can at least "see" the folders when I browse the filesystem on setting backup dir. After trying serveral evenings I am running of out ideas .... what could be wrong? Is a device change not supported?

Hey derjohn, did you come to a solution for this issue? I've got the same issue with a Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, Havoc 3.0 (Android 10 custom rom) - i just see what's installed by default and not one of my backups. Best regards

No, sadly. I switched to "Migrate - custom ROM migration tool (Early Access)" to migrate my profile to the new mobile.
