Silent Disco! #5

Open mikeal opened 11 years ago

mikeal commented 11 years ago

We get an FM transmitter and a bunch of cheap FM radios with headsets.

Hell yes :)

We should do it somewhere public, like the Yerba Buena open space.

I WANT TO HELP FACILITATE THIS IF YOU ARE SERIOUS.

I love the idea of two (or more) DJs competing for listeners.

mikeal commented 11 years ago

Working on the hardware but this shouldn't be too hard. I have a PA, someone needs to figure out the power requirements of the DJ setup. If possible I'd like to go with a big battery instead of a gas generator.

@voodootikigod me and @nexxy were talking about building a wearable fm radio with some open hardware.

what should we be looking at?

there seem kind of expensive:

@nexxy i figure if we can't get this working by Christmas we need to go with a new plan.

also, are you around for Thanksgiving? i'm doing a bunch of over-the-top food at my place :)

voodootikigod commented 11 years ago

Another option is just to buy a bunch of cheap kids fm radios and crack plastic.

@mikeal that sounds like a reasonable goal. also, I'm fairly certain I have no plans for thanksgiving.

KarbonDallas commented 11 years ago

@voodootikigod oooh! A potable scan radio. I wonder what flavor!
