Talk Name: An Intro to GraphQL

Talk Description:-

I have recently used GraphQL as the main query language in my project @Goibibo and I found it way better from REST Apis. Having knowledge of GraphQL will make the developers work more easy and scalable. It's an opensource language which is making its place very fast in the community. So I want to make developers aware of this beauty with the help of this intro session where we will learn What is GraphQL? And compare our current use cases with this language. We will also see how can we create a GraphQL Server With Node.js And Express.

Topics:

1. Query Language Introduction.

2. REST APIs Vs GraphQL.

3. Queries and Mutations in GraphQL.

4. Getting Started With GraphQL.js.

5. Client-side integration and future aspects.

Pre-reqs:

Knowledge of APIs, database. It's an intro section so I will cover from scratch.

Talk duration: 30 - 40 mins

Hello @AmanGarg97, thanks for taking interest and crafting a beautiful proposal. I remember almost a year back I gave a code-lab for the same. Here is the repo: https://github.com/knaxus/rest-and-graphql

You are welcome for this talk the only thing you have to work on is to trim the time to 25 minutes

Thank You!

Hello @AmanGarg97, Thank you for submitting the talk. Would you be doing a code demo or just a ppt talk? Will you be showing matrics as a part of the case-study to justify REST vs GraphQL?

Hi @ashokdey, Yes I remember and I had attended that talk, from then only I explored the beauty of GraphQL. I can surely trim that to 25 min no issues in that. And please review the topics in the proposal as this is my first talk and any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi @Neha, I will be doing a code demo to show the queries and mutations available in GraphQL.For the REST vs GraphQL part, I would be showing the difference by referring code and request/response in both. Thanks!

Hi @Neha, I had last communication in October with Jaswant about the talk, after that I tried to reach him but haven't got any response about the schedule.
