Please do not create a "Hokus" directory in my $HOME without asking. I have backup and sync mechanisms set up for folders in $HOME and I do not want some software to create directories in my $HOME without asking me. Please respect the $HOME of users. Thanks.

Use $XDG_CONFIG_HOME.
