Some content changed sense during the creation of the new pages, so I updated it. I also didn't understand how $variants and $variants_mapping worked and tried to use just one instead of two. However @bhaak informed me they have different purposes (hence the revert). Remainder of commits relate to relatively minor housekeeping.
