I replaced paste0() with file.path() when constructing paths to files.
paste0()
file.path()
This is a better choice because user may not provide dir ending with /. i.e. file.path(dir, file) returns dir/file whereas paste0(dir, file) returns dirfile.

Found a bug in the patch. I'll close this ticket.
