admin_console not found #68

After clean install on CentOS 6.5, no errors on install but when i goto the admin console page i get page not found. URL is correct. Tried different browsers and reinstalled with same result.

you ssl certificate is invalid. If you just want to set up for port80 (no ssl) answer port: 80 and choose not to use SSL during the configuration

So it won't use a self signed cert to run? When i connect to the main page, it loads a self signed cert. Is this why it cannot see the admin_console?

I believe self-signed is not supported no. If you want to test with SSL, why not generate a free one at http://cert.startcom.org/? This will actually be a valid certificate.

I'm new to this. When I download the cert to my server, would I need to reinstall kaltura?

After signing into admin_console. I get the following error:

An error occurred (error code: API:-1)

Message: Peer certificate cannot be authenticated with known CA certificates. RC : 0

Did you also install the CA and intermediate certificate? SSLverify check shows that you are missing some of the certs. Please see instructions here: http://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=https://mediasrv.cloud9aerial.com/

Also,

You can use the default self signed certs generated by httpd_ssl: IS_SSL="y" CRT_FILE="/etc/ssl/certs/localhost.crt" KEY_FILE="/etc/pki/tls/private/localhost.key"

These require not CA and will work. You can add this to the answer file and re-run: /opt/kaltura/bin/kaltura-front-config.sh supplying it. Note however, that with self signed, KMC will not work correctly on most browsers. It SHOULD work with the latest versions of Chrome. but as David pointed, you are better off using a real cert.

doc/install-kaltura-redhat-based.md was also updated to reflect this info as well as the URLs David supplied for generation and info about the SSL certificates.

Jess/David, Started over with clean install. I have new valid SSL. When i sign into admin console, i get the following error:

An error occurred (error code: Server:INTERNAL_SERVERL_ERROR)

Message: Internal server error occurred

Also after reboot, will not start httpd Cannot stop it or restart it Httpd log file shows: (13)Permission denied: httpd: could not open error log file /opt/kaltura/log/kaltura_apache_errors_ssl.log. Unable to open logs

rm /opt/kaltura/app/base-config.lock

/bin/kaltura-base-config.sh

Please input path to your SSL certificate[/etc/ssl/certs/localhost.crt]: /etc/ssl/certs/media.crt Please input path to your SSL key[/etc/pki/tls/private/localhost.key]: /etc/pki/tls/private/media.key Which port will this Vhost listen on? [80] 443 Please select one of the following options [0]:

  1. All web interfaces
  2. Kaltura Management Console [KMC], Hosted Apps, HTML5 lib and ClipApp
  3. Also, after running the front-config.sh, I edited /etc/httpd/conf.d/zzzkaltura.ssl.conf to include: 134:SSLCACertificateFile /etc/pki/tls/certs/sub.class1.server.ca.pem

I saw originally you had this path set to the directive: SSLCertificateChainFile

This is a different type of file.

Can you please tell me what you input when prompted for: Please select one of the following options [0]:

  1. All web interfaces
  2. Kaltura Management Console [KMC], Hosted Apps, HTML5 lib and ClipApp
  3. KAC - Kaltura Admin Console

Choosing '0' is the right choice in the event you are installing an all in 1 machine. Please let me know if you have additional questions && thanks for trying us out.

Login works correctly now and KMC as well.

After a kaltura fresh installation on centos i run the Content => preview & embed but the movie does not play and the video player its black.

I am assuming this is 9.12.0. It had a bug fixed in 9.13.0, you can fix it manually with:

ln -s /opt/kaltura/web/flash/kmc/v5.37.12/uiconf/kaltura/kmc

/opt/kaltura/web/content/uiconf/kaltura/kmc

Looks like you did not create the symlink as it says /opt/kaltura/web/content/uiconf/kaltura/kmc Did you create it as I wrote in the previous post?

If you do not have /etc/profile.d/kaltura_base.sh then the installation of RPMs failed.

Is it possible you neglected to put SELinux in permissive mode and so the kaltura-base install has failed.

What is the output of:

getenforce

rpm -q kaltura-base
