Item Description is not maintained after navigating away #56

Describe the bug An item's description is not held after being modified.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Go to Items tab
  2. Modify any item's description field
  3. Click a different item
  4. Go back to the previous item
  5. See description reverts back

Expected behavior An item's description should be saved.
