Generate RDS object ready for carnation #399

This PR contains a rewrite of the compose_results function, which is now configured to accept an RDS file path or multiple object lists and output an RDS object ready to plug into carnation.

Very nice with the tests!!

In my mind that was the last thing missing. Anything else you want to add here before merging to v1.11?
