[Bug] Weird grey counter sometimes appears #1849

The chat in the screenshot isn't muted or anything, the usual counter changed to the weird grey one

Please compare this with Telegram and provide the UX property.

@hoangdat hi, this is not a UX issue, it's a bug.

  1. The chat isn't muted, the counter is usual (blue with the number of unread messages)
  2. I open the chat
  3. Instead of disappearing the counter changes to a grey dot.

Expectation: when I read the chat, the counter simply disappears, no intermediate states
