Just started sharing my server with a few friends and family. Noticed PlexWatch detected all clients (Android, iOS, Plex/Web and even got someone watching straight from his smart TV), except for viewers using PlexBMC...

Probably best to post here, https://forums.plex.tv/index.php/topic/106593-plexbmc-xbmc-add-on-to-connect-to-plex-media-server/ as the Now Playing should work as part of a helper. As long as the client (PlexBMC) supports not playing, it will work with plexWatch. You can verify if it should work by starting playing something in PlexBMC and viewing 'Now Playing' in PlexWeb. If it shows there, plexWatch will work.

I do not use PlexBMC myself, but from the first post of the forum link, it states you must use a helper.

excerpt : Go to Add-ons > Get Add-ons > PlexBMC Add-ons for XBMC PlexBMC is a set of two add-ons. PlexBMC provides the main access to content. Enable it in Video, Music, or Picture (you only need to enable in one location). (This is required.) PlexBMC Helper allows you to control XBMC from a Plex remote (such as on mobile device or the web). Essentially it causes PlexBMC to appear just like a Plex Home Theater instance. Also required for "Now Playing" support. (This is optional, but highly recommended.)
