@theninj4 welcome back to LNUG! I remember your previous talk, it was very entertaining! Do you prefer February or March (last Wednesday of the month)?
Thanks :) I'm easy on the timing, although I've got a long 2-hour commute home so I'd appreciate an earlier-in-the-evening slot if at all possible.
hi @theninj4 - yes it would be great to have you back for another talk. We will be sure to put you first on the schedule, and keep to our start time!
I'll put you in for Feb 28th
You know the drill because you've done this before, but some members have asked us to formalise the agreement with speakers a little:
So just checking:
Awesome, sounds great 👍
great - confirmed!
Hi @theninj4, I'm going to be MC'ing next week and just wanted to check that you're still on for giving your talk? If there's anything we can do to help then please let us know.
Cheers
Clarkie
Yep, I'll be there 🙂
Great, we'll see you there!
As a heads-up, I've got to get trains to/from London for this. The forecast looks reasonable so far, although if we start getting heavy snow and trains start getting cancelled I may not be able to get up to you. I remain hopeful at the moment, assuming we don't get fully snowed-in on Tuesday evening I should be there :)
😬
Thanks for the warning! I hope it's ok!!
Hi @theninj4 - How are you looking for later? are you snowed in?
It's looking OK down here, I'm looking at getting a 3pm train which should pull in around 5:30, giving what should be plenty of time to manage any disruption on the way :)
great - let us know if anything changes!
I'm on a second train, currently due to arrive at London Bridge around 17:30 - I'll be a tourist and walk the last 20 mins to be sure I make good time. See you there!
Great news! I'll be there for about 6ish.
Thanks @theninj4 - great talk - glad you could make it! -hope you got home safely! I'll update here when the video is available.

We've spent the last 14 months working with Node.js to migrate the Holiday Extras engineering team away from Node.js monolith applications and over to Node.js microservices. Node.js is the heart and soul of the operation and the time has come to share how it's taken us above and beyond our wildest dreams. In this talk I'll be sharing how we're using Node.js throughout our stack, some of the key projects we've built and the problems they solve, and how to really make the most out of Node.js to build an incredibly powerful engineering experience.
I'm a software engineer in the tech-foundations pod at Holiday Extras with a remit to improve the efficiency of our engineering team. I've been writing Node.js day-in-day-out for over 5 years and dabble with infrastructure on the side.
