Bootstrap v4 uses .bd-highlight to show background-color and borders: http://v4-alpha.getbootstrap.com/utilities/flexbox/

This class is undefined in the mdbootstrap docs and makes the examples hard to interpret: https://mdbootstrap.com/css/flexbox/
