3 years ago I too loved CFDB and I would say Michael did an excellent job with it. Eventually, we moved all of our installations over to Advanced Contact Form 7 DB since CFDB was no longer being actively updated.
My Likes
- You can hide unnecessary fields. Alternately, CFDB does allow you to not save certain fields.
- You can easily rename fields.
- You can import a CSV. Perfect for importing your CFDB records.
My Dislikes
- It truncates fields. For example, I want to see the full "Comments" field. Rather it forces you to edit it to see it. I overwrite this via my functions.php.

Dear Michael Simpson, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the great job you DID with CFBD for a long time. It's a pity you abandoned this plugin (and all its users! (even the paid ones)). It's the most practical and best plugin I've ever used in WP. But it's been outdated for too long now and it's starting to have functionality problems. I have used it in many sites for many years. Now we are in a difficult situation without your help!
Michael, why don't you go back to work on it? Maybe you can pass the whole plugin to some young developer who will continue your work.
IS THERE ANYONE WHO RECOMMENDS A GOOD ALTERNATIVE PLUGIN TO CFDB? I've tried several, but none is as good as CFDB.
